Acupuncture treatment is when thin needles are inserted into specific points along the body called either acupoints or ashi (pain) points. This practice can impact muscular, skeletal, neurological, digestive, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive systems.

More specifically for rehabilitation, acupuncture can be used to treat: Neck pain, muscle strains, tendon tightness, sprains, headaches, low back pain, among other things. Acupuncture works by signaling the release of the body’s natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory hormones to work against pain and inflammation.

Our practitioners believe in approaching your injuries at their roots, which often means loosening up tightness or breaking down scarring present in the surrounding tissues. Using hands-on therapies including acupuncture, gua sha, and cupping to treat your condition in clinic. As well as educating you on your condition, injury or disease can help you understand how to avoid further pain and how to manage it at home. Our practitioners will show you how to treat yourself at home with ball release, stretches and rehabilitation exercises so you don’t need to come in all the time.

Don't miss out on a great opportunity to learn more about your body and how you can naturally manage pain so you can get back to doing what you love.

needling img

Like traditional acupuncture, micro-needling is a topically focused treatment used for promoting skin repair, reducing the appearance of aging, wrinkles, stretch marks and scars. Healthy skin allows for better protection from the element, prevents limited range of motion, and has the potential to reduce pain (depending on its cause).

Surgical-grade micro-needles reach beyond the epidermis into the dermis, causing pin-point bleeding and triggering the body’s spontaneous healing response. Within minutes, the perforation channels close and the healing cascade starts, invading the area with collagen-producing fibroblasts and growth-promoting properties. New organized collagen and elastin forms, bolstering from within, while the epidermis becomes thicker and more supple, each time a treatment is performed. You practitioner will ensure there is minimal to zero discomfort during your procedure.

This may also be covered by your acupuncture benefits. Book your free consultation to discuss if this is the right treatment for you.

FAQ's

What should I expect following treatment?

As practitioners, we do our best to avoid any negative response to needling, but sometimes bruising may occur, bleeding at the insertion, and/or some post-treatment achiness.

What clothing should I wear?

It is best if you wear loose comfortable clothing for your acupuncture treatment so the clothes can be moved or removed in order to reach the acupuncture points. There are occasions when it is necessary to remove clothing down to underwear, such as treating back, chest and leg pain. Patients can expect to change in privacy and be draped with a sheet that will cover any regions not requiring practitioner care.

How many treatments will be required?

Every person and conditions are different and as such, treatment time and response to treatment will vary. Generally, chronic conditions required more treatment than acute issues. As with any form of conservative therapy, it generally requires more treatments to gauge its effectiveness for each individual.
